This year I fulfilled one of my dreams: I did my first destination wedding in Spain. I have to say that it was an amazing adventure which wouldn’t have been possible if Celia and Stu hadn’t decided to organize their wedding in Ciudad Real. I was even more elated when they agreed upon an engagement photoshoot in Spain and to travel up to Campo de Criptana for their wedding photoshoot in Spain after the big day. But let’s get back to the wedding day itself…
On a clear and bright day in sunny Spain; Celia and Stu are getting ready in Hotel Cumbria Ciudad Real, each in a different room as tradition dictates that the groom cannot see the bride before she enters the church. Celia is getting ready with her sister and mother; they create such an energetic atmosphere as though a group of twenty people. Laughter, tears, and everything that a wedding photographer in Spain can imagine. I must also mention their creativity for their precious day: the wedding ring box was handmade by Celia and the dress for little Lua was crafted by the mother of the bride– unique and awesome in every way.

I won’t say too much about the ceremony which took place in Ermita de Nuestra Señora de Alarcos, because how could I? A church on the top of the mountain, is there any other word to describe it than ‘epic’? I don’t think so. The reception is held in the centre of Ciudad real at Sercotel Hotel Guadiana, but what makes me feel that this is a legendary day is the magical energy from the people; all of the guests relish this fantastic day. I am delighted and blessed for being part of this day, it now also makes me a humble fotógrafo de Bodas España.

Fiel reflejo de la realidad!!! Una primera parte que transmite perfectamente toda la agitación, nervios y confusión de los preparativos. Una segunda parte en la que se puede tocar la seriedad y trascendencia de la ceremonia religiosa y una parte final de autentico desmadre con reminiscencias en blanco y negro de la “Dolce Vita” de Antonioni. La vida está llena de momentos irrecuperables. Para mi este fue uno de ellos, no pude asistir, encomendándonos al estatuto del astuto Miguel Delibes, el fotógrafo ha sabido reflejar todos esos detalles en la selección de robados durante el enlace.
Mi tía derrochando energía, amor y ternura.
Mi hermano sonriendo como únicamente hace él y por supuesto unos novios rebosando ilusión en tantas escenas. Podría detallar todas pero quedarán para mi opinión personal. Lo que si debo decir es que viendo las fotos, el artista me teletransportó a la boda de mi prima, gracias por permitirme estar con mi familia en la distancia.
